Fall Fashion Favorites from Pink Desert!

I’ve already been itching for Fall as I’ve seen the cutest clothing pop up from boutiques all over–including Pink Desert– one of my new favorite places to shop!

They get in new items all of the time. And if you follow them on Instagram, you will get a heads up about that as soon as it happens. The really cute items tend to go out-of-stock quickly.

And since Pink Desert agreed to give us an exclusive, amazing discount, I thought I would share a few pics of my favorite items from their boutique that you can currently get right now!

The perfect relaxed fit plaid shirt.  I wore this up the canyon for some family time. Little makeup, little stress and a cute shirt that you could easily dress up with heeled boots too!

The Navy Aztec Wrap Dress
How much do I love this dress?  Let me count the ways!  I wore this dress to my niece’s baby blessing and I was receiving compliments left and right.  I think wrap-dresses are one of the easiest ways to quickly flatter just about any body type. It skims over anything you don’t want to bring attention to and the stretchiness makes it fit like a glove without being too clingy.

Red Quilted Vest
Camo V-Neck Top
Army is one of the big things this Fall Season.  But if you aren’t sure how to wear it,  T-Shirt like this one will work perfectly.  Pair with a set of black leggings, boots and a quilted vest and you are good to go!

Quilted Puffer Vest
This is a vest I would probably only dress up with black boots, skinny jeans and a black long sleeve T.  You will stay warm and cozy when it starts to get cold out and still look put together.

4 Ways to fix dry skin when the season changes
Beauty, How-To's

It’s That Time of Year! 4 Ways to Combat Dry Skin, Hair and Scalp When the Season Changes!

I wanted to quickly remind you guys that once we change seasons (Summer to Fall/Winter and then Winter to Spring), your hair, scalp and skin in general go through shock!  So if you notice that your makeup isn’t going on as well, if you notice your hair is limp, scalp is dry, skin is dry, you need to give yourself a little TLC.

So schedule it out and take a night to really rejuvenate your skin and help it do a quick reset.  Here are a handful of tips that I personally notice make a big difference:

  1. Deep condition your hair.  You will want to find a moisturizing conditioner for this.  After you have shampooed, put on your deep conditioner and leave it in.  Don’t wash it out.  Once you are out of the shower, comb through your hair and put it up in a top knot like I have above.  Sleep on it and in the morning, you can rinse it out.

I’ve heard great things about the Neutrogena Deep Conditioner Line.  A few others to try out would be the Organix Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Intense Moisturizing Treatment,  Biolage Matrix Hydrosource Mask, and one of the very top deep conditioners would be the Kerastase Nutridefense  (a very little goes a long way). One that I am personally using right now is the L’Oreal Professionals Absolut Repair! And I love it!

  2. Use an exfoliator on your skin and face 2 times a week.  I’ve talked about some of my favorites before, but in case you missed them, my two all-time favorites are the St. Ives Apricot Scrub and the Lush Buffy Body Bar.

  3. Do a Mask on your face.  My very favorites are over here and you can usually get them for only $1- $2 a piece!  Anytime my makeup isn’t looking quite right or isn’t blending, this is my go-to fix.  In fact, it’s something I need to do this weekend!
  4. Moisturize right after you get out of the shower.  You can towel dry off lightly.  But while your skin is still damp, apply whatever lotion you love that really helps lock in moisture.  If you didn’t know, your skin actually absorbs better when it is already wet/damp. I prefer this lotion.  And it doesn’t smell like anything–which is nice if you want to wear perfume or another smell instead. You can also use Baby Oil and rub it in after a nighttime shower and right before you head to bed.  There’s a reason why we use it on babies to give them super soft skin! ;)

Hopefully these tips will work for you and get your skin back to its glowing, gorgeous self!  If you have things you do to help your skin during the seasonal transitions, I would love to hear them.  So comment below!  I might have to try one of your tricks this next week. :)

bb creams vs cc creams IG

What is the Difference Between BB Creams & CC Creams?

PostLabels-OurFashionMAP-MeleaAfter I posted two weeks ago that I would be trying to find the ultimate CC cream options out there– and spent like $250 at ULTA grabbing all of the products to test out, I had a lot of you asking me what the difference between BB Creams and CC Creams were.  And I thought, “Great Question!”. A lot of people might not know what a BB Cream or CC Cream actually is and why they want to add one in their beauty routines.  So let me break it down for you:

BB Cream stands for Blemish Balm or Beauty Balm.  It’s basic purpose is to help give minimal coverage, provide SPF, typically has a light-reflecting element or a “dewy” effect and helps to even out skin-tone.

CC Cream stands for Color Correcting. In my experience, CC Creams typically have more coverage and help color correct skin tones with dark spots, redness and uneven skin color.  And of course, they usually have that SPF included as well.

I have both BB Creams and CC Creams.  But I use them for totally different reasons:

I typically use a BB Cream when I need additional moisture and want a more youthful “glowy” look.  It can be used by itself as a quick “something” when you need to head out.  Or you can put it under your typical foundation.

For CC Cream, I have been using this more as my go-to lately and still layer it under my foundation. I’m getting older, my skin isn’t repairing as quickly as it used to and by using CC Cream, I’ve noticed a real difference in how my skin appears.  If you can find a really good one, it could easily be worn alone–in place of foundation too.

I am still testing out all of the products I purchased.  But I can tell you that the IT! Cosmetics “Your Skin But Better” CC Cream is my favorite so far.  You can get it here with free shipping.  (For reference, I wear “Medium”.) You can also find it here.

And if you need a cheap idea for BB Cream, I actually really like the Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream.  It definitely helps give you that glow without having sparkles all over your face. ;)  You can find it here, here, and here.

Since I am still testing out different creams, tell me your favorite BB Creams and/or CC Creams!  It always saves so much time when friends tell you what to buy instead of testing things out blindly!

Fashion Friday Steal: My Favorite Jeans are the Lowest Price Ever!

extreme stretch jeans from express

A while back, I shared with you guys that my favorite jeans are actually from Express.  And their Stella Extreme Stretch Black Jeans are the best jeans ever made on this planet.  NO JOKE.  They are stretchy so they fit and mold to your body.  But they don’t lose their shape so you won’t find them falling off of you when you walk either. They are just straight-up flattering.

Express just let me know that they have these on sale for $39.90 this weekend only– regularly $79.90! If I hadn’t just grabbed these same jeans at the Express Outlet last weekend for the same price, I would be ditching you guys right now and buying them myself. ;)

express jeans on sale

And actually, ALL Express Jeans are on sale for $39.90 this weekend. And there are a lot of other washes, fits and styles that you might want to try out. If you haven’t worn them before, I will say that they run true to size.  However, most of their jeans DO stretch.  So if they are tight and you can barely button the button at the top, that’s what you want!  After wearing them for a few days, they will loosen up and fit absolutely perfect.  **If you buy them too big or buy them already fitting perfectly, in a few weeks they will be too big and will start to fall off.

They even come in Short, Regular and Long sizes.  So they fit a bigger range of heights and sizes, which I love too!

I will say that as a Mom, I don’t find I have a lot of time to head to the mall– which is probably why I am so obsessed with finding awesome deals like this one online.  If you haven’t purchased from Express before, just a heads up that they will take online exchanges or returns.  So if you don’t love the fit or the size is off, you can head to a store later and get it fixed in a jiffy–without losing your awesome price of $39.90!

Sale ends Sunday, August 30th at 11:59pm EST
